Positive and encouraging news. Yet the media won't emphasise them, tell us a bit more about those individuals, but rather they report 'British doctors'. Would they not tell us about more of about them if was a negative story?
Why didn't they report the Chinese doctors who have arrived in the UK?
The media reporting patterns divide us and plant the seeds of hear & hatred. My question is why? Is it because those top 1% who have money and control have those views? Is it because it sells more?
In the book "The Brain" by David Eagleman, a neuroscientist, he explains how the human brains is always looking for patterns and also trying to fit you in a group. This increases your chance of survival since you'll be cooperating with others you and feel their pain. However, there is a dark side. Those seen as outside of your group (e.g. religion, race, nationalities, school, some "mandem" will take it further to post code) are seen as less humans. So you don't empathise as much with them and you couldn't care less about their pain.
So when you see the perpetual association of minorities with negative events, you're subliminally/subconsciously feeding the brain with that information and your brain will see a pattern between minorities and those behaviours, therefore you don't associate, empathise or even worse, justify dehumanizing them.
This helps explain why people will care more or less about the deaths of different people (remember the reaction to the 2015 Charlie Hebdo shooting. Now how about the tragedies in Sudan, Syria and everywhere else?) Dangers of this: An example - The media dehumanized Muslims minority in former Yugoslavia, this lead to the horrible 'ethnic cleansing' genocide. History tells us of countless other similar cases. There is always the same pattern: dehumanization by populists/media, because we usually can't bear killing and unfairness to one another.
We are not born evil. Our perceptions are twisted, we are taught and do evil, sometimes not realising it.
